As I am looking over my most recent entries I realize that I have done quite bit more but for some reason I did not seem to take pictures of the finished product. I was either that busy or that excited to see the recipients reaction. I do up things now and then as a personal gift from me to whomever for whatever reason. I can see how saying " Thankyou, Happy Birthday or I love you " in a timely fashion can be overlooked by the camera lens. I will have to make a point of contacting some people to see if they would mind e-mailing me pictures to add to my blog.

One such gift I recently did was for a Thankyou. The fellowI made it for bowls 10-Pin so I went with that theme. I made a pattern from a picture I found on Google Images. I combined the wood with the acrylic and it turned out really nice.

**** If anyone knows of a place in Regina that I can purchase sheets of clear acrylic plexiglas or the colored plexiglas MC, please let me know. I have been using bits that were given to me to try and I like. *****

TIME FLIES

A friend of mine has an absolutely adorable grandfather, we'll just call im " Grandpa " because that's all I really know him as. I have never met Grandpa personally but feel like I know him quite well from the pictures that Janelle had displayed in her cubical at work. Janelle would update us on how Grandpa was doing and how she would get beat a the game of crib. We always new when Grandpa was in the car because when we'd take runs to Tim's for coffee, the passenger seat was always pushed all the way back to accommodate Grandpas' long legs. I think that Grandpa looks like Grandpa Simpson, only a lot taller and not yellow.

Grandpa is an avid Blue Jays fan so for Christmas a couple years back Janelle asked if I would make him his own Blue Jays to hang on his wall in the nursing home.

Janelle has since moved on to another job so when she was packing her personal posessions I glomed on to this pic, she can print off another one.
What a sweetie Grandpa is :0)

My how time flies....................

The past six months has found me very busy working on order requests, building stock so that I can possibly take part in a art carnival coming up and just keeping up with the day to day business as I am still working a full time job in the city. You could probably say that I am working two full time jobs. Wood working occupies my time after work, evenings and weekends.

The following are some things that I've been up too since January.

A fellow that my husband knows gave me some scraps of wood, aluminum and acrylic to play with. The cross is one of my first attempts working with aluminum. I don't mind the slower pace when it comes to cutting but there has to be a quicker way to polish up all the little scratches; 1000 grit sandpaper, W-D40 and a lot of elbow grease.
This acrylic window hanging was pretty much my first. I made it for my mother for Mothers Day.
I really like working with the acrylic except for the fact that not all pieces of acrylic cut the same. Some melt, some stick to everything and some just cut like butter. This will be one of those things that I will have to learn by trial and error until I get to know the different kinds of product.

This was a last minute idea that I came up with just days before Christmas. I almost worked around the clock to meet the Christmas morning deadline but believe me, it was all worth it. I wanted to give him something that he just couldn't go out and buy, his puppies and that goes deep to the heart. Indy is no longer with us but he will always be missed.

FOUND SOME MORE

These are a few of the misc. things that I did. Of course there were many more but for some reason I must have not gotten or forgotten to take photos. ( I probably just filed the photos in a different folder and can't remember. DUH ! ).

LOGOS - BIG BUSINESS

Logos were at the top of the list for Christmas gifts this year. Below are are just a few of what I had done.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders seemed to dominate this year. This may not mean much to anyone other than myself but one of my Sask. Riders helmets was purchased and given as a gift to one of the Sask. Roughriders football players.

As we started in to the hockey season, the request for NHL logos increased.

KEEPING UP TO DATE

I was very emotional when my sister-in-law opened her two gifts that I made for her.
The Sunset in the Mountains picture frame contains the photo Marn's first grandchild - Carter.

The Cocker - resembled her Coco that they had lost a number of years ago. Coco was 12+ years and was an important member of the family.

This is my great-nephew Carter's Toronto Maple Leaf bear.

Smiles..... now this is what makes all the time and hard work so worth while. I enjoy what I do but it is the positive reactions that put the final touch on all of my projects.
